Heritage Hub Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 October 2026 Effective from: 2 October 2026

1. Who you are agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and HeritageHub Technology Services Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore (UEN 202547722D), registered office 68 Circular Road, #02-01, Singapore 049422.

By creating an account or using Heritage Hub, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Heritage Hub.

2. What Heritage Hub is

Heritage Hub is a private platform for families to build a shared family tree, keep and share memories, plan events and stay in touch with each other. It is invitation-based and closed by design. It is not a public social network, and we do not intend it to become one.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Heritage Hub account, with one exception: a person aged 15, 16 or 17 may have an account if they are invited to their family and one of their parents on that family's tree, who has their own Heritage Hub account, makes or approves that invitation. That approval is the parent's consent on the young person's behalf. The parent can withdraw it at any time, which closes the account. At 18 the account becomes an ordinary adult account. No one under 15 may have an account.

You must give accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for anything done through your account, so keep your credentials private and tell us at security@heritagehub.app if you think someone else has access.

One person, one account. Do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you add to Heritage Hub: your photographs, your stories, your family records, your messages.

You give us a licence to host, store, back up, reproduce and display that content, but only for the purpose of operating Heritage Hub and providing the service to you and the family members you have shared it with. The licence is worldwide and royalty-free because servers and backups are worldwide, and it ends when you delete the content, subject to the backup periods described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not use your content to advertise to you or anyone else. We do not sell it. We do not licence it to third parties. We do not use it to train generative artificial intelligence models.

5. What you promise about what you upload

When you add content to Heritage Hub, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to share it
  • it does not infringe anyone else's copyright or other rights
  • recording it does not breach anyone's privacy in a way you have not thought about, particularly for living relatives
  • it is not unlawful in your country or in Singapore

You remain responsible for what you record about other people.

6. Rules of conduct: zero tolerance

Heritage Hub has a strict no-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You may not use Heritage Hub to:

  • post content that sexualises, exploits, endangers or abuses a child, in any form
  • harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate any person
  • post content that is hateful towards a person or group on the basis of race, religion, caste, ethnicity, national origin, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation
  • post content that is violent, graphic, obscene or pornographic
  • impersonate another person
  • share another member's private family content outside the family space without their agreement
  • upload malware, attempt to breach our security, scrape the service, or use it through automated means
  • use Heritage Hub for commercial solicitation, advertising, or the promotion of any product or service
  • do anything unlawful

Content and conduct that breaks these rules will be removed and the account responsible may be suspended or terminated without notice.

7. Reporting, blocking and how we respond

You can report a family member, a message they sent you, or a photo or comment in a shared album from inside the app. You can also block another member from messaging you one-to-one.

When you report something, we acknowledge it immediately and we aim to review it within 24 hours. Content that breaches section 6 is removed. Accounts responsible for serious breaches are terminated. We may report material involving the abuse or exploitation of a child to the relevant authorities, and we will do so without waiting to be asked.

If you block a member, neither of you can send messages in your one-to-one chat until you unblock them. Because Heritage Hub is a shared family record, blocking does not remove anyone from the family tree, hide profiles or take anyone out of family group chats; if a member is behaving abusively, report them and we will act.

We publish our child safety standards separately at https://www.heritagehub.app/child-safety.

8. Family spaces and shared content

Heritage Hub is organised into family spaces. Content shared into a family space is visible to that space's members according to its settings.

Understand what this means before you share: once a photograph or a story is in a shared family space, other members can see it, and we cannot unsee it for them. Deleting your account does not remove content you contributed to a shared space, because that content is part of a record other members rely on. Our Privacy Policy sets this out in more detail.

Connecting relatives and families is the purpose of Heritage Hub. As part of the service, we suggest when a person may appear in more than one family's tree, as described in our Privacy Policy. This is on by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy. Suggestions show only a first name, a birth year and the reason for the suggestion until a connection is agreed.

Connections between separate family trees are only made when both sides agree. We will never link two families' records without the explicit consent of both.

9. Free and paid plans

Heritage Hub is currently free to use.

If and when we introduce paid plans, we will tell you clearly what is included, what it costs, and how to cancel, before you pay anything. Any purchase made inside the app is processed by Apple or Google under their terms, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. Features you already have on the free plan will not be taken away and put behind a paywall.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We try to keep Heritage Hub running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

You can export your family tree at any time. We build for that deliberately, because your family history should not be trapped in our service.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Heritage Hub and delete your account at any time, in the app under Settings, or at https://www.heritagehub.app/delete-account.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your account has been inactive for a very long period and we have told you in advance.

12. Our liability

Heritage Hub is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any twelve month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and SGD 100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

13. Apple and Google

Apple. These terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Heritage Hub or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and is not responsible for any claim relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo and are not on any United States Government restricted parties list. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms, including your wireless carrier's terms.

Google. These terms are between you and us, not with Google. Google is not responsible for Heritage Hub or its content and has no obligation to provide support.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom or India, you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence and mandatory consumer protection law in your country continues to apply to you.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app and by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, and we will say what changed.
